The Ordering Trail

The Ordering Trail is a game jam game made at Whitethorn Game that is entirely based on inside jokes, in a format inspired by The Oregon Trail. The game is about the perils of a group of coworkers going out for lunch. While walking to lunch you and your group encounter different situations that may cause you to make the tough decision: Leave Artsi behind or attempt to save them, wasting precious lunch break time.

What I worked on:

Trip Event system

The core of the game is the events that occur along the trip. I was tasked with building this system to be as flexible as possible in our timeframe. I was able to build a system that allowed an event to lead to a dynamic number of outcomes, some costing time or people, others leading you further into making more decisions at the same stop, possibly wasting even more time then previously expected.
